Hans Jørgen Vodsgaard
Chief Executive for Interfolk, Cand. Phil and Mag. Art. (History of ideas). He has expertise in project coordination, desk and field research, pilot work implementation, curricula and course planning, and evaluation and quality assurance – in a Nordic-Baltic and European civil society context. He is also author of articles, reports, and books in the field of liberal adult education and participatory arts and voluntary culture in a civil society context. Current member of the Danish coordination committee of the Baltic Sea NGO network, Denmark; Chairman of the new Danish NGO Network for International Project Work; and board member at Musisk Center Danmarks Fond.
Susanne Juhl Paaske
The key person involved in the project will be Susanne Juhl Paaske, General Manager of Middelfart Volunteer Center. Cand. Scient. Soc. (International Development Studies) and B.A. (Cultural Studies). She has expertise in project coordination, teaching, pilot work implementation, and course planning. Previously she has had a variety of coordination and evaluation tasks regarding e.g., Nord Plus, Erasmus, InterReg and the European Solidarity Corps. Current member of the FRISE (Voluntary Centers and Self-Help in Denmark), The Volunteer Group in
the Municipality of Middelfart and board member The Council for Vulnerable in the Municipality of Middelfart. Former member of the Cultural Council in Svendborg. Deputy chairman of Samarbejdsforum Odense – à la Volunteer Council (January 2013-January 2015). Member of the Odense Sustainability Council (January 2013-January 2015).

Pentti Lemmetyinen
Pentti has a Master’s degree in Education and is a family counsellor. He has worked at The Finnish Federation of Settlement Houses for over 30 years. His first years were spent at the local level in Tampere and since 2006 he has been the CEO of a national umbrella organisation. Pentti is also a President of the International Settlement Federation (IFS) since 2016.
The Finnish Federation of Settlement Houses has 32 member organisations all over Finland. Civic action, community work in neighborhoods, community housing, educational work, child and youth work, senior and elderly work, work with immigrants and extensive crisis and violence work are the main contents of Finnish Settlement work.
Pentti is also a member of the board of the Finnish United Nations Association and chairman of Finnish Victim Support Work. Defending peace, democracy and equality are important values for Pentti.
Junias Kanyinda
My name is Junias Kanyinda, Communication Officer at the International Federation of Settlements and Neighborhood Centers (IFS) and Management Assistant at the Finnish Federation of Settlement Houses in Helsinki, Finland.
With a rich background in administration, office work, organizational communications, and international relations, I have dedicated over a decade to fostering global partnerships and enhancing community engagement through my roles. Holding a bachelor’s degree in business administration (Multilingual Management Assistants), I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in managing diverse and multicultural environments.
A mother of three, I balance my professional commitments with a profound dedication to advocating for social justice for all with a focus on the rights of women and girls to access education. My career journey spans significant roles, from an interpreter and supply clerk at the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo to an influential voice in international communication and coordination, demonstrating my adaptability and commitment to making a difference.
Fluent in five languages, I leverage my linguistic skills to bridge communication gaps and foster understanding across cultural divides. My passion for languages, communication, and education fuels my dream of becoming an expert in digital and non-profit communication, further reflecting my commitment to empowerment through learning.
Staffan Lindqvist
Staffan Lindqvist is the key person involved in the project. He is the executive director of the International Federation of Settlements and Neighborhood Centers (IFS) that is hosted by the Finnish Federation of Settlement Houses. Staffan has a backgrund as Community worker and has an exam as community worker and also a bachelor degree in sociology.
During the last 20 years, Staffan has been managing around 25 different national and international projects on behalf of the Settlement House in Lund and the Swedish Federation of Settlements where he also served as Secretary General for five years. The projects have in various degrees all been connected to informal learning, empowerment, democracy and social inclusion.
In addition, he has also served as a part time educator at the Education for Community workers at Hvilans Folk High School and served as manager for the local Settlement House in Lund, Sweden.

Małgorzata Smoczyńska
Project main leader, author and coordinator. Working as EU-projects creator and coordinator for Wawerskie Centrum Kultury. Soft skills trainer with NVC and zen coaching background, creator of The School of Leaders – entrepreneurial studies for women, Successful Women Academy (one of the biggest women self-developement organizations active in years 2009-2016) and more than 20 workshops connected with self-developement and management skills, author of psychological articles for Coaching Magazine, experienced organizer of events and conferences, passionate in travelling and creating networking and developement opportunities.
Małgorzata Lebiediuk
I am a cultural animator and a coordinator for a cinema project called the WCK Film Club (Klub filmowy WCK).
I am involved in organizing events in the Wawer Cultural Zone (Wawerska strefa kultury), such as meetings, lectures, workshops, concerts, festivals, and film screenings. Personal development that makes life better and building interpersonal relationships within the local community are among my values. I love my job because I can fulfill my mission through it!
Participating in the Metropolia Wawer project has expanded my opportunities and has been inspiring, especially due to the improvement of my language skills.
Marzenna Szymańska
Educator, art entrepreneur and photographer. She is teaching photography at Wawerskie Centrum Kultury.
Together with her students she created a photographic community „FotoFalenica” that is involved in many artistic and cultural events in our district. They organize exhibitons and open air photographic activities, among others. Each week they have classes in Wawerskie Centrum Kultury Filia Falenica, led by Marzenna. However the community is much bigger, not only students from WCK participate in it.
Marzenna is also responsible for inviting interesting photographers to WCK. She organizes lectures and exhibitions which promote Polish photography to our community in Wawer. She is involved in many other local groups, together they make Wawer a better place 🙂
Marta Różańska
Sewing instructor at WCK Falenica, completed a state tailoring course (performing tailoring services), education: Public Administration. In sewing, she specializes in accessories, her favorite forms are bags, cosmetic bags, backpacks, but also mascots invented by students. Every day, he teaches dozens of children and adults to sew on the machine. Apart from tailoring, her passion is photography, especially product and still-life photography. She often photographs events such as theater performances, concerts, vernissages.
In WCK Falenica she also takes care of volunteers cooperating with the institution. She eagerly shares her knowledge with them about her work. In addition, she is the author and implementer of cultural projects aimed at the development of the local community, for example „Pine that connects” – a series of events and workshops that was based on a sense of responsibility for the common good, which is nature.
Urszula Stanowska
At the Wawerskie Centrum Kultury, she conducts exercise classes for seniors. In her work, she uses and combines various, proven methods of physical and social activity to maintain independence, health and well-being.
She is yoga, pilates and nordic walking instructor, but above all, kinesitherapy specialist, i.e. using movement as a means to maintain and improve health. She has been running classes for Wawer seniors for over 10 years. She uses her knowledge and experience adapting the nature and way of conducting classes to the needs and capabilities of seniors of all ages, from younger seniors to people at a very advanced age.
She completed postgraduate studies specializing in kinesigerontoprophylaxis at the Academy of Physical Education and Sport in Gdańsk and postgraduate studies in Geriatrics and Gerontology at the Medical University of Poznań.
He has numerous certificates in the field of health, physical activity and spending free time, including the „Yoga In Preventive Healthcare” certificate.
Ewa Andrearczyk
Cultural animator, pedagogue, drama instructor. She has been working at the Wawerskie Centrum Kultury since 2014. She is the author and implementer of projects on education through art, organizes Oxford-style debates for young people, runs the Women’s Club and forest baths. In her spare time, she dances Argentine tango and practices yoga.
